Mercedes LAPV Overview
The Mercedes G Class armored LAPV is a 4-wheel armored military vehicle designed and developed by the German defence company Mercedes Benz Defence Vehicles. The family of LAPV vehicles has been used by several defence forces in various countries. The LAPV is available in three variants: the “LAPV 5.4-4 Doors“, “LAPV 5.4-5 Doors” and “LAPV 6.1“. Mercedes LAPV Chassis
The LAPV is powered by a 181-horsepower, 3L 6-cylinder turbodiesel engine that delivers 400 Nm of torque. It features a fully automatic transmission with five forward speeds, one reverse speed, and a two-speed transfer box, enabling permanent four-wheel drive. Both on front and rear, there are rigid axles are equipped with coil springs and telescopic shock absorbers, providing enhanced mobility and stability on rough terrain.
The vehicle is outfitted with different size run-flat tires depending on variant. Braking is managed by a dual-line, hydraulic system with disc brakes on front wheels and drum brakes on rear wheels, supplemented by Anti-Lock Braking system (ABS) and Electronic Brakeforce Distribution (EBD).

Protection and Armament
The LAPV 5.4 4-Doors variant offers ballistic protection compliant with STANAG 4569, safeguarding the crew compartment against small arms fire and shrapnel. It also provides mine protection according to STANAG 4569. The vehicle can be equipped with different kind of turrets, cupolas etc. There are 4 rifle holders to fasten crew equipment. Additional protection can be integrated as per mission requirements.

The vehicle offers ballistic protection according to STANAG 4569, safeguarding the crew compartment from small arms fire and shrapnel. The engine compartment is protected to STANAG 4569 Level-1 standards. The vehicle can be equipped with various turrets, cupolas, and other mission-specific configurations, with additional protection available as required by the mission.
